Calcium Wash

Treatment of calcific tendinitis of the shoulder, by a calcium wash, consists of aspirating the calcium deposits responsible for bursitis and tendinitis.

Process

1. Ultrasound examination of the area to be treated.
2. If treatment is required, the radiologist performs a wash of the calcification, as the needle is inserted a few times to aspirate the maximum amount of fluid. The examination is completed with the injection of cortisone.
